Reminders about Area F

Area F needs to consist of precisely 18 credit hours. I am providing the link to USG policy 2.4.2, which states:

"Areas A-F: Every institution in the USG will have a core curriculum of precisely 42 semester hours and an area F of precisely 18 hours."

We have traditionally allowed for overflow hours from gen. ed. to area F, but only for cases such as STEM majors which have lab courses in area F.

See:
http://www.usg.edu/academic_affairs_handbook/section2/handbook/C738/#p2.4.2_areas_af

For STEM majors, there is an exception if area F includes a 1 or 2 credit hour lab.
